Photograph by Roger Stalley. North - east corner of cloister showing door into south aisle. The door has scallop capitals and through it can be seen south - west crossing pier of nave with capital comprising of beaded strapwork and foliate infill. The north - west corbel of the late medieval crossing tower can be seen in the distance.

(handwritten on back of image): The two chapels in the South transept of Holy Cross Abbey, Thurles, showing the interesting structure, perhaps meant as a tomb, which supports the stone valuted roofs of the chapels.
